MINGO SWAMP FLORA & FAUNA PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
CONTEST PURPOSE: "To promote public awareness of the beauty, value, and uniqueness of Mingo National Wildlife Refuge, the Mingo Swamp Friends and Refuge staff welcome amateur and professional photographers of all ages to enter our annual photography contest."
                                                      
The Mingo Swamp Flora and Fauna Photo Contest is open to photographers of all ages. The categories include:

*Mingo Landscape--must have been taken at Mingo NWR
*People in Nature--must have been taken at Mingo NWR
*Native Wildlife
*Native Plant

Entrant categories include:

Youth (17 & under as of August 1, 2019)
Adult (18+ years of age)

HOW TO APPLY: The Mingo Swamp Flora and Fauna Photo Contest entrance form and rules are available below and at the Mingo NWR Visitor Center. 

PHOTO CONTEST DEADLINE:  Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.

SPONSORED BY:  Mingo Swamp Friends and U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service - Mingo National Wildlife Refuge

All winning photographs will remain in the care of Mingo Swamp Friends and Mingo NWR until August 2019 while going on exhibit at the Mingo NWR Visitor Center and other public locations.

RIGHTS TO USE

 

All entrants agree to allow Mingo Swamp Friends and Mingo National Wildlife Refuge rights to publish winning photos in future educational and promotional publications without compensation.


Upon entry of the photo contest, participants acknowledge that neither Mingo NWR, Mingo Swamp Friends, nor any sponsors of the contest are responsible for lost or damaged photographs, or liable for copyright or other legal disputes that may arise from this competition.

RIBBON CUTTING SEPTEMBER 6, 2017
The Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce will conducted a ribbon cutting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6 to celebrate the opening of the 2017 Mingo Swamp Friends Flora and Fauna Photo Contest display at the Mingo NWR Visitor Center.  Contest participants, winners, and sponsors were recognized.
